The trip was great, the walking hard on the 2nd and 4th days but worth every bit of sweat and hard breathing. The climb to Salkantay was difficult but worth it in the end, great scenery of the snow capped mountain and surrounds.

On the 3rd day we followed one of the many mountain rivers for the day through beautiful jungle vegetation. The rivers came from everywhere.

Our tour leaders were great, they provided for us in every way explaining where we were and commenting on the native plants and bushes. The cooks - we wanted to take them home, the food was different every day and exceptional, first class is the best way to describe it. It made the hard work all worthwhile.

Tents and accommodation were also first class - we wanted for nothing, even cocoa tea early in the morning outside the tent. Other groups that we saw did not have the quality of food or service. I would recommend to others.

The tour leader took into account our comfort as on the last day it was raining for our day at Machu Picchu so we went by bus to the top. Our guided tour of the site with anecdotes from an Incan perspective by our guide was detailed and informative.

I (Robyn) rode a horse on Day 2 to get over the Salkantay Pass, it was an exciting experience and the opportunity to be on the tour.

Thanks for a great trip.
