Chat on WhatsAppTrekking the Inca Trail has always been my husbands dream, so when he retired we decided that this was the time to do it. It has been an amazing experience. Much harder than I expected, but due to the care of the two guides, Carlos and Nilton, never daunting.
The scenery is breathtaking, so much more imposing than I expected. The different climate zones with their differing vegetation are very interesting. The service was excellent, the porters were inspirational and made us feel very humble. I shall never forget the way they ran past us on the trail carrying not only our bags, but tents, food and everything else required as well. The food was delicious and we were exceptionally well looked after.
Our first sighting of Machu Picchu was spectacular and absolutely unforgettable. In all, it was an excellent trip and highly recommended. Many thanks to our guides who made it all so enjoyable.
