Wonderful Adventure ! Grueling, challenging, and amazing ! Worth every minute and more. Every time you look around is a fantastic mountain view, steep cliffs, countless waterfalls, and wildlife. The Inca Trail group was fantastic. Well organized, surprisingly excellent food for the conditions, 3 meals a day, and water is provided, and they even had a birthday cake for one of the other members of the tour.
I highly recommend the porter service, as the trail can be extremely challenging with steep climbs for hours at a time and you want to carry as little as possible. All of the porters and other staff were helpful, even guiding me to the bathroom at night when it was pitch black out. Manny, the tour guide had 15 years of experience and good knowledge of the various ruins on the trek.
Overall, I highly recommend the company and the hike, if you can handle some camping, changing weather conditions, and minimal amenities for 4 days... it's well worth it in the end.
