Chat on WhatsAppCame into this trek after traveling solo for around 2 months in South America - I can not think of a better way to end my adventure. The trek began two days prior when we met with our guide to have an overview of our trek which was very helpful.
The morning of you are picked up at your door by your guide and brought to a bus to begin the journey. The scenery and culture experienced during the 5D Salkantay trek can not be expressed in words. You pass through many towns, climb many mountains and experience many different climates - amazing. Our guides Carlos and Marco were unbelievable.
They were extremely knowledgeable about Peruvian/Incan history, as well as masters of the agriculture we experienced. They were tons of fun, great at including everyone and full of energy. They were kind and sincere, and helpful to the few trek members that got sick along the way. The food provided was the best food I had whilst traveling.
Three to four course meals, including lunch. They also made accommodations to vegetarians (myself included) and gluten-free members of the group.
I could not be happier with my experience had during this trek. I have nothing to complain about. What a blast!
