Chat on WhatsAppIt all started with a briefing on the night before the hike to inform us the requirements and the plan for the trip. After signing the disclaimer I must admit it was a little scary thinking of all the things that could possibly go wrong. However, Victor re-assured us that if we take our time and keep focused everything will be ok.
The first day was a small test for the challenge that awaited us. The second and third days were very challenging, but Victor and Francisco were always covering the front and back of the group to make sure everyone was ok. I also enjoyed being part of a smaller group as it made it a more personal experience. I met some great people from different areas of the world.
The whole experience could not have been possible without the work of the porters. Their work is some of the most physically challenging and dangerous that I have seen in my life. Yet they seem to go about it without hesitation. I wish them all the best and hope they are rewarded for their hard work. It was an unforgettable experience and I hope to do it again in the future.
