This was the trip of a lifetime. The first day was very easy, a necessary warm up for the days to come.
We were picked up from the hotel by one of our guides early in the morning. We had a two hour bus ride through the country to the trail head. A few hours of hiking to the campsite. I was blown away by the quality of the food that night and the whole trip in general.
I've never eaten such good food on the trail before. We had heavy rain that night and managed to stay dry. The second day was the hardest by far. We were encouraged to take our time and enjoy the hike. The third day was the longest but the most enjoyable by far.
The views were epic. Pictures don't due the mountains justice. You must see with your own eyes. We woke early to get a good start toward the ruins. The hike was fairly easy which saved much energy for machupicchu. Our guides Victor and Marco were beyond my expectations.
They both were very informative and helpful in keeping spirits up when the fatigue was setting in. I enjoyed the whole and would consider doing another if ever possible.
I would recommend this trip to everyone who appreciates the outdoors and good company.
