Chat on WhatsAppFollowing a series of long flights we arrived into Cusco during the early hours of the morning. The greeting from the company was excellent, and a seamless connection from the airport to the hostel took place.
We met our guides, Paul and Marko, and following a few more days acclimatisation began the trek with a 2 hour bus ride and some gentle trekking through stunning scenery, that saw us end day 1 with some much needed swimming in a glacier lake.
Day 2 saw our group tackle the Salkantay ridge, although the cloud came in an excellent day was had with the weather finally clearing once we had a scented into the cloud forest.
Day 3 saw a undulating trek through the low level jungle, culminating in a visit to the natural hot springs.
Day 4 took in a spot of ziplining, before entering the national park and trekking up to Macchu Picchu town.
Throughout the 5 day trek the service has been outstanding, with both guides providing excellent insight and knowledge about the route and local customs and culture. A very enjoyable 5 days, would highly recommend to anybody.
