Avoid the inca trail Congo line

Overall really great trip. The trail had a very large variety of scenery. The pick up was very well organized and punctual. The first day hike was short but used as a training day. The afternoon offered an extra hike to a lagoon. This was a great hike and nice to have the option on the first day. Very cold first night. Staff did their best with hot liquids and food. Campfire would of been a nice extra.

Second day was the big hike day, which was all and all amazing. Huge views and snow capped peaks. Great food from the chefs. The chefs were incredibly accommodating for being vegetarian with extra dishes made on the side. Camp was ready upon arrival and each day finished with a tea time, then dinner.

Third day hike out towards jungle for morning. Great change in scenery and vegetation. Afternoon was a hot spring. Another option would of been appreciated, such as hiking, since the hot springs were quite crowded and very man made. Some enjoyed the hot springs a lot, others less. Second, the hot springs and return transport were not covered for cost, as inexpensive as they were (10 soles total) it would of been appreciated.

The second, third, and fourth night were in the same campsite as three other groups. It felt less like camping in the bush and more like camping in the middle of town. A separate campsite would of been a much more intimate and rustic feeling. That would be my biggest complaint.

Fourth day was either zip line or hiking, both were amazing! Afternoon was the long, long boring hike along the railroad, but at this point this seems to be the only access by foot to Aguas caliente.

Fifth day is Macchu Picchu tomorrow.

We had two guides that excelled expectations. Great information on local traditions and the history of the incas. Great English and understanding of a variety of languages. Food was amazing, a perfect way to experience a full variety of Peruvian dishes.

A few things to improve, but hands down I would immediately recommend this company to anyone. Very safe, organized and honest. This hike was an amazing experience!!
