This was a spectacular trip. A peak adventure for me. The porters were amazing, not only carrying some of my stuff, the carried an entire kitchen. They even baked us a Mother's Day cake on Sunday, our toughest day.
Equipment was great too. Spacious tents and warm with their rain flys on. It gets cold at night and the sleeping bags were excellent. Lots of good food designed for high altitude nutrition. Besides delicious soups at every meal along with vegetable dishes, we enjoyed lomo Saltado, trout, and chicken.
Our guide, Ever, was excellent as well. He was very knowledgeable of the Inca culture and the many archeological sites we passed. He also explained the flora and fauna as we crossed through many climate zones. A very enjoyable adventure.
It will be a week now for the body to recover, a week of great memories with each stretch.
