What a trip ! Much harder than I imagined. But I am here sipping, no gulping a cold beer down in Aguas Calientes. Yes I made it, much to my surprise. It was hard for me mostly, but we had a really good guide, Juan Carlos was just perfect. Very knowledgeable, accommodating, organized and he took great care of us hikers.
Camp food was very good, and it was a relief to have specially made vegetarian food at all my meals. The porters were/are beyond inspiring. Scenery: Bring a camera and extra batteries, and if you don't mind being left behind a lot, bring that tripod with you.
Oh... and we had a rainbow when reached Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate. Pays to trek in the rainy season. Thank you to the crew of Inca Trail Reservations .
