The porters were incredible, the food was amazing, and the guides were best of all. Everything about this trip exceeded my (already high) expectations.
For me, the best part was Everth teaching us about the history of the Inca's and pointing out interesting things along the way. He has a way to get along well with any personality, and to make everything interesting. I think it must be very difficult to motivate so many different personalities and he killed it.
My second favorite was the food (what Modisto can do with food on the trail is so impressive). As long as you have the right mindset, the Inca Trail as absolutely achievable for any reasonably fit person.
