Though there are a number of different treks that arrive at Machu Picchu, options for a relatively rugged experience are limited. This particular trek was the best of both worlds – breakfast, lunch, and dinner all exceeded expectations whilst the trek itself was more challenging than you might imagine. Ramiro is a highly capable guide and the supporting staff – Daniel and Raul – were delightful. Admittedly, you can\’t plan for positive group dynamics but the guides do a good job at encouraging camaraderie amongst a group of otherwise disparate people. All told, I enjoyed the experience.
