Chat on WhatsAppIn a nutshell - this trip was awesome. I am happy i chose the Salkantay trail. Very scenic and not crowded. The logistics were very well taken care of. Above all our guide was an awesome guy, David. He was very friendly, accomodating all our requests with a smiling face. The crew that accompanied him worked very hard to make our journey a pleasant one.
The camp sites each day were awesome. the toilet facilities were just awesome, you would expect much worse conditions on a trail. The food was very well planned. Guess what, they even baked a birthday cake one day ! Isin't that awesome.
The trail itself was very scenic. We had planned the tour so that it was a day or two close to the full moon day. On the first day of our camping, we were able to see the Salkantay mountain peak in all its glory, shining in moonlight. that sight was just unbelievable. I had packed a lot of heavy camera gear, that one picture was worth it.
The hotel accomodations were very good, both in Cusco and Aguas Calientes. Salkantay.Org did a good job with the hotels. Good rooms and restaurants, hot water ' your wont believe what a good hot shower does after days of trekking.
i have to mention David, our guide again. We were very happy to have trekked with him.
