Gorgeous Salkantay

My daughter and I chose Machu Picchu for our first vacation together. She had been living in Ecuador for a year and a Machu Picchu trek seemed perfect for two active people. I had been very concerned about the altitude because we were only able to spend one night in Cusco to acclimate. My doctor prescribed Diamox. I got no altitude sickness at all. Day 2 was amazing. Other than running marathons, that trek was the most challenging thing I have done. I only wish I could have lingered a bit longer at the top to savor my accomplishment but it started raining pretty hard. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience a challenging adventure with gorgeous scenery.
