I wanted an experience my teenage children and my dad would never forget. This is one of the best memory makers.
I wasn't expecting nice accommodations and was expecting to really rough it. Camp food, no toilets, and flimsy sleeping pads. What we got was amazing food, toilets along the way (some were only toilets with holes), and good sleeping pads.
Our guide was invaluable to the experience. He was passionate and knowledgable about the Inca culture and religion. He kept us safe and taught us so much. The scenery is worth every step along the tough terrain. The Andes Mountains are impressive beyond words.
