Lots of fun. The vistas were spectular, and our guide Carlos was great. He did a good job weaving in the local Andean narrative into his explanations of what we saw and experienced.
Day one was easy and good for acclimatization. We were at 3,900 meters with glaciers and iced capped mountains all around. Day two kicked all of our collective asses. We hiked from 3,900 up to 4,600 m; breathing was difficult, the hiking was arduous, but we all survived and celebrated at the end at base camp. It left us with a huge sense of acomplishment.
Day 3 was more relaxed and a fitting end with a beautiful train ride to hot water. Hah, thats a joke. The end.
