A wonderfully challenging adventure. My head aches, my stomach is upset, and everything else is sore and dirty, but my spirit is high. The altitude sickness and exhaustion were but a slight damper on an unforgettable experience.
We saw pristine glacial lakes, marched with horses across high rugged plains strewn with ancient boulders, saw the snow capped peak of Umantay glowing in the moonlight, ate ceviche in a blue tarp hut while a steady rain fell outside, descended from chilly glaciers to humid rainforest in matter of hours, restored weary bones in natural hot springs, and fought with one particularly bold, banana-stealing turkey. I'll take away from this trip indelible memories, amazing photos, and a burning desire to learn how to make Lomo Saltado myself.
