In one sentence the tour was everything I expected and more ! Having done the 4 day tour, the views each day were incredible, with 6 different Inca sites before we even got to Machu Picchu. Being woken up at 5:30am each morning with a coca tea and a cooked breakfast was a great start to the day, and there was no pressure to walk at a fast pace, with plenty of breaks to take in the views and understand more about the Incas.
Our guide Raulito was extremely knowledgeable and with perfect English he brought the tour to life with stories about the Incas, and motivated us along the trek. Before setting out I was worried about the altitude, and would recommend going to Puno first to acclimatize as after this I had no issues. The toughest part of the trek was day 2 which saw a climb of over 1200m, but you could go at your own pace and once at the top the views were worth it.
The crescendo to the whole trip was arriving at Machu Picchu which was stunning, and the tour around was great, but I truly believe the 3 days prior make the trip as you see and learn so much along the way. The food was exceptional everyday, and I got on great with the group we had for the 4 days. Only thing I would recommend is to remember to bring extra money for tips and buying additional water/snacks along the way.
