In search of Machu Picchu

This was an incredible experience. We were worried booking our 4-day hiking tour at the end of the rainy season, but the occasional rainstorms were not enough to dampen the magnificent and vast scenery. I was not expecting to see so many waterfalls from the camp sites and the Inca sites.

Personally, I enjoyed seeing some of the less well-known Inca sites, which gave a feeling of discovery that was completely absent at the tourist-filled Machu Picchu.

Our guide was fantastic, setting a hiking pace that was comfortable for those not used to hiking at high altitude, and taking time to share Inca history that was thoroughly fascinating.

Would recommend to anyone in search of a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
