Our Inca Trail adventure was physically exhausting, mentally challenging and absolutely incredible the whole way. Each day of the trail was different, an 'easy' start, when we had lots of fun getting to know our Inca family, learning about the Quechua people and sites, not to mention the phenomenal view.
Things got a bit harder from then on, it felt like we were climbing straight up ! Luckily we were very well fed, with delicious, gorgeously presented meals every day. The last half of the trek was visually stunning (and not quite as painful on our legs !), we hiked through the jungle, with beautiful waterfalls, vibrant flora and we even spotted a couple of hummingbirds.
Machu Picchu lived up to its reputation; it was amazing from afar, and fun to explore once we finally got there. Well worth the trek.
