The trek itself was very well organized. WE were told a lot of information about all the ruins along the way. In total I think we saw 6 ruins, which we were given free time to explore. The sleeping/eating accommodations were above expectations. The food provided was to a very high standard. Our Guide (Carlos) was great; he was very informative and easy to talk to. The porters were great, easy to talk to, great help. We got up at 3:30 on the 4th day which was good because we were one of the first groups to get to Sun Gate. During the tour of Machu Picchu Carlos gave us lot of information and again lot of free time. The overall experience was 10 out of 10 in every way.
The only thing which I may change would be the return journey. It may be better to come back on an earlier train and also finding the correct bus to Cusco was a bit tricky, however this is a small thing over all.
I would definitely recommend Inca Trail Reservations and Carlos as a guide. All the information which I was provided before the trip was very helpful.
