I experienced the Salkantay trail with the best views. I really enjoyed how the rough camping experience was at the beginning and as the experience continued, the accommodation experience also increased in experience as well.
The company provided camping tents, horses to carry the packs and food for the duration of the experience. I truly appreciated the care provided by the workers of the Salkantay.org company. We would be provided tea or coffee or cocoa in the mornings along with our wake ups. We would also be provided with smiles and encouraging words during the tough parts of our hikes which really helped and helped us continue in on our journey. Because of their caring encouragement, kind words and healthy food they had provided, we were able to hike to the highest point, thought it was tough, and continue our journey all the way to Machu Picchu.
The food prepared during our trip was really amazing. I felt very impressed by the freshness of the food and the light mood in which they were prepared and served. I never felt discouraged or unhappy. I truly appreciate all the encouragement and appreciation we received by the workers. I could not have asked for a better experience. It has been one of the best experiences of my life. One thing I would suggest is providing a suggestion of purchasing and or bringing a sleeping bag that is good for 30 degrees Fahrenheit or lower during the Spring months.
