Chat on WhatsAppFor me, every adventure in a new place is about the people who I am with, and those who I meet. The highlight of my trip was our incredible guide, Carlos ("King of the Mountain"). His local wisdom, coupled with a sharp witty sense of humor and ability to build camaraderie made the adventure complete. I also happened to be placed with a solid group of fellow travelers, which made the trip even better.
And further, the scenery is a huge draw for Salkantay ... If you are up for a very strenuous yet rewarding, photogenic trip, this is the one for you. The food is very good and much needed after long days on foot (18 miles on Day 2 !). In spite of some difficulties due to seasonal rain, I am content with my experience and will recommend it to friends.
