I had no idea what to expect going into this trip. I was amazed by the detail and thoroughness of the experience, which was prepared by Inca Trail Reservations . Everything from the guides, to the porters, to the food was beyond my expectations. I would have never expected three course lunches and dinners. The guides were also very personable, spoke excellent English, and were very knowledgeable and helpful. The trail itself was challenging but worthwhile. Machu Picchu was really beautiful and amazing.
The company supplied equipment was passable. The tents and sleeping pads were decent, but I recommend you bring your own sleeping pad if you have one. I also highly recommend bringing water purification tablets (and purchase them before you arrive in Cuzco). Bottled water is available on the trail but is expensive. Some hikers were comfortable drinking straight from the mountain water but I have a weak stomach so I did not want to risk it. Finally, good hiking shoes can save your life, and make sure you wear them in before starting the journey. We had several hikers wearing brand new shoes and they all developed painful blisters!
I highly recommend Inca Trail Reservations . thank you very much!!!
