Where to start? What an amazing experience and an incredible company. I have just completed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and am still in a state of disbelief. Machu Picchu was obviously an incredible site, but, in my opinion, the trek itself was just as impressive. The natural beauty that surrounded us made every tough moment (dead woman´s pass, especially) actually bearable. I remember thinking to myself, as I was huffing and puffing, how lucky I felt to be on such a gorgeous hike. Every break I took, I was sure to look around and take it all in. The natural beauty was complimented by the fun and carrying staff of Inca Trail Reservations .
The night before the trek, we were given an orientation, which prepared us for the days ahead. We were told what to bring (don´t forget chocolate; a LOT of energy is burned in these four days) and were given the opportunity to meet our trek-mates and guides. I felt very confident starting the trek with all the information given.
We were picked up at our individual hostels and we met up with the porters. One could not write a review without raving about the porters. I felt as though we were luxury camping. The food was delicious, actually the best I´ve eaten my entire South America trip, and we were constantly surprised. One morning, we were welcomed with a freshly baked cake…honestly, a freshly baked cake…camping? We were also woken up every morning with coca tea and warm water to wash up. The attention Inca Trail Reservations gave to the small details made the trek that much more special. Along with the porters, the guides were very impressive. They took the time to get to know us and I could tell that they truly cared about the wellbeing of each member of the group.
I could go on and on with compliments, but the bottom line is that you won´t go wrong with Inca Trail Reservations . I am so happy I chose to make the trek to Machu Picchu with them and will never forget my experience.
