From the orientation through the bus ride back from Ollantaytambo, everything was perfectly organized.

The guides were excellent. We were told everything we needed to know in the orientation session and were given ample information after reserving the trek. The guides were well informed, spoke english very well, and best of all were very patient both with the speed of the trekkers and their acclimation to peruvian culture.

The trek itself exceed expectations. In addition to Machu Picchu, we were taken through many other ruins along the way, getting a really sense for the Incan community that once inhabited the magical valleys we trekked though. We were also told about the wide variety of plant and wildlife that we would and did see along the way.

Facilitating enjoyment of the trek, the transportation before and after were handled with great care and there was little to no uncertainty that we had to deal with.

No small matter, the food was superb!!! We were given three sizeable meals a day with all cooking, cleaning, and set up taken care of. Speaking of preparation, the outstanding porters had all of the tents and other accomodations set up and ready to go before we arrived at each resting place, so we were able to toss our stuff down and take a load off.

The group was big, but everyone was extremely friendly and the guides did a nice job of introducing everyone and bringing the international group together.

Lastly, it is worth noting that Machu Picchu does not disappoint. The guides provided a very thorough, in-depth explanation of the site, and it is just as impressive as you would imagine.

The trek is difficult, but it was well worth the effort. Highly recommended, especially with Inca Trail Reservations !!!
