EPIC!!! That sums it up. Ok, ok. I will share more. Ever since I saw the magnificent pictures of Machu Picchu in national geographic as one of the seven wonders of the world, I knew I had to witness this place someday. My husband and I decided we would celebrate our 11 year anniversary trekking the Inka trail.
We started off in Cusco for 3 nights at the beautiful JW Marriott hotel. Many wonderful restaurants , vendors, architecture and fabulous massages. This was all in preparation for our vigorous trek.
The 4 days and 3 nights were much more than I expected. Our trek was difficult but as magical and spiritual as I have ever witnessed. Our porters were amazing, strong, kind, and always supportive of our needs. Our guide was so knowledgable and full of stories. I learned so much about the culture of the Inka people. These indigenous people were so connected, they acquired wisdom that could only come from God. The journey was rich and moved me to tears on more than one occasion.
The moment we arrived in Macchu Picchu I was blown away. Thank you thank you thank you .
