For the 50 and older crowd, this is a long, arduous trek. It is a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to test your fitness. Our trek totaled 42 miles, and was a great experience. The terrain was quite varied from alpine meadows to the jungles. Water was everywhere including great waterfalls and a glacial lake.

The peak elevation was 15,300 feet, so if you are concerned about altitude issues, take prophylactic acetazolamide. We had about a 1/3 of our party that were affected, including hikers in their 20's and 30's. The food was unbelievable and our guides were outstanding. Make sure that you are fit as the elevation is the real deal.
