The trek to Machu Picchu is a must for any self-respecting, capable adult. It is not easy, and at times you will be rethinking the life decisions you have made that resulted with you being on the Inca Trail , however, it is well worth it.
The experiences along the way, the people you meet, and the sites you see will have you telling everyone you meet that it was well worth it. The food is surprisingly delicious with a much appreciated variety of dishes, meats, and veggies.
The staff is friendly and nice, and the guides went out of their way to help you out and talk about the history of Peru and the Incas. If you go to Machu Picchu, the hike is an absolute must.
