Although the trek is long and arduous, the last two Incan sites are well worth it. Coming over the Sun Gate in the morning is a breathtaking experience. I particularly enjoyed doing the trek with two of my best friends. Once you get used to waking up early and using the \”restrooms\” things will go much more smoothly. I would say for this trek, the pleasure is not in the journey, but rather in the destination. All jokes aside, the Inca Trail can be grueling, but it is a wonderful experience and a good test of personal strength and mental toughness.
