So, my story goes like this... One cold day in Edmonton, Alberta, my (very adventurous) best friend (very easily) convinced me to join her on an epic 4 day, 3 night trek to Machu Picchu. In my mind, this would be a nice little break from real life. Little did I know, a group of travelers that shared the same commitment to physical challenge, the same positive attitude, and the same appreciation for beauty in the world would give me a whole new outlook of life.
Together with the amazing guides, porters, cook, and every other un-showered smelly person involved in this amazing journey... I accomplished a long time dream to not only see Machu Picchu, but we hike there. I don't even hike ! But we all made it together ! Not only did I gain bruises from falling, bug bites, and a new appreciation for toilets that don't require squatting... I gained friends, and an experience I'll look back on fondly for a lifetime.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Inca Trail Reservations (tour guide, Victor) for sharing your culture and knowledge, and for keeping my spirits high when I wanted to give up. This tour was truly amazing !
