The Salkantay trek was a fantastic experience. So many great impressions. Every day was different and had different highlights. We got picked up a bit late on day one, but from then on everything worked very well. Good food and good service from the guides. The trek can be a bit tough at times, but it is all worth it. This was an experience of a lifetime. We were somewhat lucky with the weather, which was great. Even though the trekking in the rain was very wet, it was not that bad. I can recommend the Salkantay trek to anyone wishing to experience Peru – and much more than Machu Pichu.
