We left Cusco at 6 am in the morning to make the long drive to Mollepata where we had our breakfast. Despite the anticipation of hard hiking, it turned out to be less than what I expected. Throughout the trip we enjoyed exceptionally good meals with soup, main course and in the evening a desert. Even the hike over Salkantay Pass was less hard than I thought. I was glad not to suffer much from altitude and even my knees did not complain too much about the descent. Of course, the second highlight was the last day in Machu Picchu which was absolutely amazing. It is a magical place.
For improvement, the hiking pace could be more steady and more adjusted to slow hikers. I also thought that the explanations in Machu Picchu could be more professional but nonetheless, this was a lifetime experience.
