hiking with my sons on the Salkantay trail was a great bonding opportunity. We were pleased with our guide and cook. They worked hard to accommodate us as we modified our itinerary.

The food was well prepared and there was plenty of it to keep us satisfied. We were disappointed in the trail itself as there was too much road walking and not enough mountain trail. Ramiro encouraged us as we worried about having problems at elevation and watched closely to make sure we were acclimating properly. He made sure that we experienced much of the culture as well.

Salkantay and Umantay were very beautiful and we were thrilled to be camped below them.
