The Trek was amazing and the scenery, breathtaking. It was extremely challenging In parts but completely worth it. Cesar, Our tour guide was brilliant, setting the pace and encouraging everyone In the group to reach their goals.
Day one was a great way to ease into things, a short 30 minute climb followed by a 2 hour Trek to our camp.
Day 2 was huge! Instantly beginning the climb the the Salkantay pass, a good 3 and a half hour climb to the summit ( the view was worth it) then the 6 and a half hour descent to camp almost broke some in our group.
Day 3 was another big one, 6 hours of steep climbs and sharp descents through the rainforest, past waterfalls and over creeks. Ending with a relaxing soak in the hot springs.
Day 4 was easy, over to the Hydro plant for lunch and then an easy 12km to our hotel. Some incredible Inca sites along the way
Tomorrow is Machu Picchu, can't wait!
Thank you to everyone who made this trek possible, Cesar, Dino and the horseman especially for taking great care of us all.
Would recommend to anyone!
