Chat on WhatsAppMy experience on the Salkantay tour was incredible ! I highly recommend it to anyone. The trail takes us through a variety of geological landscapes and terrain. We started in the alpine, a wide open valley surrounded by the biggest mountains I've ever seen (and I'm from the Canadian Rockies !) The Salkantay range is unreal and beyond beautiful.
The first night was pretty chilly so bring your layers and the company provides you with plenty of warming food and drinks. You're at high altitude... really high, so I recommend altitude pills. The second day is very challenging but the guides are very patient and there are options if you're struggling. You finish the day in the rainforest. From there its pretty great because we have a variety of flowers the rest of the way !
Our guide Victor was so wonderful. He was pleasant, positive, and so knowledgeable ! The hike was incredible, the trail was wonderful, the guide and support staff were top notch ! Highly recommended :)
