The Inca Trail hike was fantastic, and I would highly recommend Inca Trail Reservations to my family and friends.
Our tour guide, Victor, was extremely knowledgeable of the trail, the Inca culture, and the many archaeological sites we visited along the way. The cook and porters were extremely hard working, and the food was excellent. Our group of 7 consisted of Americans, Canadians and Belgians, which made for a cultural experience in of itself. After hiking each day, the group had supper together, which allowed for great sharing of stories and experiences.
Some of the most memorable parts of the trip included the second hiking day, which included a very strenuous hike up to Dead Woman´s Pass, followed by an extremely steep decline. Although this day was difficult, our tour guide made us aware that after this portion of the hike, we would be rewarded with two easier days.
The best part of the trip by far was arriving to Machu Picchu´s Sun Gate at sunrise. Although it was cloudy, we were rewarded with fantastic views of the Machu Picchu site, as well as Wayna Picchu. Victor and his team made our trip a success and I am very thankful that we chose to use Inca Trail Reservations.
