To start with wow, I did it. Completing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu has been a personal long time dream for me. The entire experience has been amazing. A small group of seven people met for the first time in Cusco to complete this great adventure with a group of guides, porters and even a chef. We spent our hike as a true adventure family, we got to help each other out whenever necessary, just by simple stating to each other "Yes we can make it". Of course lots of times it took our King or The King of The Mountain, Carlos to really convince some of us.
The experience of hiking the mountains and having freshly cooked meals, sitting down for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner each day was a great experience by itself, we could sit down, relax and have truly great food. Overall the experience was amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who has an adventure spirit. And of course for the finale to arrive in Machu Picchu feels like a great achievement, one to be experienced and shared. Personally it brought out inner emotions, I could describe that for 4 brief days I lived in the energy of another civilization from a long time ago. Thank you Machu Picchu and thank you Peru.
