Even though the hiking was physically challenging for me, I was so glad when I arrived at Macchu Picchu that I had not just arrived there by train....it would not have been as memorable an experience. The booking process with Inca Trail was very easy and the staff responded to our queries in a timely manner. The pick up at the airport went smoothly as well as pick up at our hotel.
Our guides helped us to appreciate the indigenous culture and we were moved when we found out that one of our porters was able to complete the trip to Macchu Picchu. He had never seen Macchu Picchu before, part of his cultural heritage.
I wish that all the hard working porters could have this opportunity.
