By far, the hardest and most rewarding trip I have taken to date. Day 2 is exactly what you've heard and more. If you like to push your limits like I do, this is the trek for you. If you have seen photos of Machu Picchu or the Andes, there isn't a picture that can capture the sheer size or rugged nature you can see in person.
Our tour group / guide was as good as it gets, I highly recommend booking with them. Inca Trail Reservations . The porters were amazing - Carlos and Ronnie were our personal guides and we could not ask for a more professional staff. Also, the better shape you are in, the more you will enjoy it.
We flew in with 6 friends and made many more over the next 4 days. Pensacola, FL.
