Chat on WhatsAppCarlos "the king of the mountain" lead us through the wild mountain during a blizzard, with only five feet of visibility we ascended in record time and survived with all out toes and fingers. I did not know what I was getting myself into but don't regret a thing.
Carlos is an amazing guide and our chefs were as equally great in the kitchen, we were first to rise each morning with tea and breakfast waiting to warm our bellies for the trek ahead. The views were glorious and Carlos did a fantastic job providing history each day of our adventure. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.
I would recommend the Salkantay trek for anyone who is looking for some amazing sights and hiking, be sure to bring the correct gear though as you're experiencing the high mountains and jungle within a few days. Thanks to the family and friends I was able to make during this amazing trip to Machu Pichu!
