Swimming in glacial lakes; snow, sleet, rain and tropical jungle sunshine in one day; hiking from 2900m above sea level up to 4600m and down the other side back down again; hot springs; zip lining; lots and lots puppies.
The Salkantay trek had it all. This coupled with the Inca or Tawantinsuyo history provided a great warm up for Machu Picchu. Sleeping in professional tents and with a master chef cooking up a storm in a small makeshift kitchen.
Overall, I've been fully pleased with the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get themselves ready for Machu Picchu.
