We had relatively great weather over the four days, with rain at night but lots of sun on the trail and at Machu Picchu. The trail was very challenging, especially on the second day (beware altitude sickness!), but the pace is flexible so it is definitely not insurmountable.
The food provided is hot and plentiful, providing a lot of energy for the trail. The porters are very helpful, and constantly amaze us by how quickly they walk despite carrying far heavier loads. Along the trail we saw beautiful scenery, both natural and buildings from the Inca civilization.
Of course, Machu Picchu is the highlight, with incredible photo opportunities if the weather is good.
