We were privy to Incan insights such that we never could rightly have expected, to the kind and supportive guidance that few tours I have been a part of could have provided and to the multi lingual, brilliantly humoured and devastatingly beautiful team that is ''Inca Trail Reservations". The only thing left to compliment, and this is not said lightly given my own fascination with all things gastronomic, is the food.
It was truly spectacular - be it served at 4600 metres of altitude fuelled from a gasoline canister or in the cosy confines of a well selected restaurant as we readied ourselves for the final assault on the hallowed Machu Picchu.
