I wanted something challenging, both physical and mental, as well as something that could potentially be spiritual. My Machu Pichu adventure fit the bill perfectly!
The information provided to me prior to my arrival was comprehensive and made me feel like I was ready. The service provided, from the reservation process, to the airport pick up, to the porters and trek guide, was top notch.
I learned much more about Incan culture than I thought I would. I made new friends from around the world. I was challenged physically and mentally, but succeeded in completing the trek, and doing so in high spirits.
I was awestruck at the first sight of Machu Pichu. I was at a loss for words about how it made me feel. Hours later, I'm still at a loss for words.
I will return home with a greater appreciation for Peru and Incan culture because of the incredible natural and man-made wonders I've seen and experienced these past few days. I will also return with a greater sense of myself.
