Worth the walk!

So glad I did the Salkantay Trek. The beauty of the landscapes exceeded my expectations and were well worth the time and effort of getting to them.

This was my hike of this duration so I was pleasantly surprised that the trek was relatively easy for me. Of course that would not have been the case without the great company of our guide and the other hikers in my group.

The incline sections were somewhat challenging but going slow but steady was key for me. It was great to arrive at camp with tents set up and we could immediately relax. Meals were all enjoyable as well.

We always ended the night by playing cards and having tea, and we wound up in bed much earlier than expected so the early morning rises did not seem rushed to me.
