Inca Trail Reservations were brilliant from the start! From the moment I booked the trek online I was constantly kept informed with regular e-mails. The pre-trek briefing was informative and a great way to meet fellow trekkers.

Our guides, Ruben and Exson, were friendly and good humoured; they had good knowledge of the history of the trail and spoke very good English. Throughout the trek the porters were amazing! They cooked amazing, hearty two and three course meals which were always tasty and varied each meal. The food was far better than I ever imagined and being woken with a cup of coca tea and bowl of hot water to wash was another unexpected luxury.

The second day was extremely difficult even for the very fittest members in the group but getting to the top of dead woman’s pass and seeing the amazing views and the sense of achievement made it completely worth it! The trek was beautiful with stunning valleys and snow-capped mountains, jungle, exotic flora and of course the Inca ruins.

Unfortunately due to kiosks on the first two days, the control points and the 500 other people trekking the trail there is a big touristy feel to the trek. Also don´t get too excited about seeing the sunrise at the Sun Gate, the trail does not open from campsite 3 until after sunrise, and you have to wait in the dark for an hour and a half after breakfast before you can start hiking.

The Inca Trail was a great experience, a brilliant hike with beautiful views and amazing history, I strongly recommend Inca Trail Reservations !
