Chat on WhatsAppHi, I took the Inca Trail from the 27th to 30th March 2014. I have to say that it was a wonderful experience to hike and get to know the Inca culture at the same time.
The hike might be challenging at some parts but the views along are all worth it. We have visited a few Inca ruins on our way to get an insight into the Inca culture before visiting the Macchu Picchu. Our guide Carlos gave us a lot of useful information about the Incas and took care of us along the whole trail.
I have to say that the cook we had was also amazing and the food was better than in most restaurants. The porters earned all my respect carrying our tents, sleeping bags and personal stuff and running fast along the trail.
My only recommendation to the trip is that the last day we had to wake up very early and wait for the entrance to Machu Picchu only because the porters had to catch their early morning train. I think there should be another option so that the porters could take a later train and the trail participants can sleep longer on day 4 before visiting Machu Picchu.
I would recommend this trip to all my friend and would like to thank you for this amazing experience.
