The Inca Trail was more than I had expected it to be. Although very challenging, it was one of the most worthwhile experiences of my life. We had a very good chef who made amazing food, and porters with excellent service that exceeded expectations. Our guide helped us through every step, and spoke pretty well English.
The second day was without a doubt the hardest, going uphill until you have reached 14,000 feet. But, the third day had steep downhill stairs that seemed to go on forever. The reviews I had read before said that the trek was moderate, but I would disagree because I, along with everyone else were very sore and exhausted. Despite the fact that the trek is hard, people of any age could do this trek.
Overall, this was the greatest adventure I have ever been on and would recommend it to anyone.
