Camino Inca = Awesome

El Camino Inca was a once in a lifetime experience. The guides were helpful and knew alot of information about the Incas and the area. They also helped me to practice my Spanish. We had a great group of people and spent the evenings playing frisbee or card games. Emphasis was placed on the group staying together.

The best places, aside from Machu Pichu were the ruins and especially the terraces.

The trek was more difficult than we expected, and included long periods of uphill staircases.

We would recommend that others do alot of uphill training before the trek, and have good fitness. in general to carry your pack. Items that you must take are hiking poles, good sneakers or hiking boots, and waterproof pants. Insect repellant is also useful.

So many of the views and areas before Machu Pichu were amazing with not another person in sight, this is why I would recommend that people do the trek rather than getting transportation to Machu Pichu. We arrived to Machu Pichu in time to see the sun come over the ruins, and then entered the site. It would have been better if hikers were given some time at Machu Pichu before the tourists entered on buses.

Transport to the start of the trek was arranged well, but we would have preferred to have been taken to our hotel upon return to Cusco following the trek. The food was fantastic and we had more than enough to eat. Both my friend and I are vegetarian and we ate well.

I would definitely recommend this company!
